It is easy to make obvious comments on obvious theses in the beginning but after a while, you simply run out of things to say. The daily grind of academia can get extremely boring. That's why you see professors doing things such as going off on wild tangents. They are bored out of their minds and try to have fun by torturing the students. Gender studies has struggled too hard and has too much pride as a serious subject to let it all hang out that. AJ spent her entire career building a reputation of respect.
